«ខ្ញុំអស់សង្ឃឹមយូរហើយ ខ្ញុំមិននឹកស្មានថា កូនខ្ញុំបានធូរស្បើយនោះទេ»
អាជ្ញាធរភូមិបានផ្តល់ព័ត៌មានមកក្រុមការងារនៃអង្គការធីភីអូកម្ពុជា ដើម្បីស្នើសុំការព្យាបាលជូនអ្នកជំងឺនេះ។ បុរសម្នាក់មានវ័យ៣៧ឆ្នាំ ត្រូវបានចាក់សោរបង្ខាំងនៅសំយ៉ាបក្រោមផ្ទះ។ គាត់រុំភួយព៌ណក្រហម សក់វែងប្រាសស្មា ជើងម្ខាងត្រូវបានចងច្រវាក់ភ្ជាប់ទៅនឹងសរសរផ្ទះ។ នៅពេលក្រុមការងារចុះទៅដល់ផ្ទះអ្នកជំងឺ អមដំណើរដោយអាជ្ញាធរភូមិ អ្នកជំងឺហាក់មិនស្វាគមន៍វត្តមានរបស់ក្រុមការងារឡើយ។ គាត់និយាយថា «កុំចង់មករញេរញៃជាមួយនឹងខ្ញុំ» «ខ្ញុំដឹងគំនិតអាក្រក់របស់អ្នកឯងហើយ សូមថយចេញឱ្យពីផ្ទះខ្ញុំ»។ ទោះបីម្តាយគាត់និយាយលួងលោមទៅកាន់គាត់ថា «ពួកគាត់ជាពេទ្យ គាត់មកជួយព្យាបាលកូនប៉ុណ្ណោះ ពុំមែនមកធ្វើបាបកូនទេ» តែអ្នកជំងឺនៅតែមានៈ ហើយនិយាយថា គាត់មិនត្រូវការ ការជួយពីនរណាឡើយ។ មេជើងគាត់មានដំបៅ ប៉ោងហើមដ៏ខ្លាំង។ គាត់និយាយច្រើន ហើយចោទថា ក្រុមការងារចង់មកចាប់គាត់ ចង់មកនាំខ្លួនគាត់ទៅ ហើយប្រតិកម្មថា គេមកធ្វើបាបខ្លួន និងនិយាយពីនេះពីនោះឥតឈប់។ គាត់ចាប់ផ្តើមឈឺនៅអាយុ២៥ឆ្នាំ។ គាត់បានឈប់រៀនត្រឹមថ្នាក់អនុវិទ្យាល័យ បន្ទាប់ពីគាត់ឈប់រៀនគាត់បានទៅធ្វើការនៅភ្នំពេញ ជាជាងផ្សារដែក។ គាត់បានធ្វើការអស់រយៈពេលជាយូរឆ្នាំនៅទីនោះ រហូតដល់ថ្ងៃមួយ គេក៏កត់សំគាល់ឃើញថា គាត់ចាប់ផ្តើមមានអាការប្លែក និយាយច្រើនឥតឈប់ មើលឃើញអ្វីប្លែកៗដែលអ្នកដទៃមើលមិនឃើញ គាត់និយាយម្នាក់ឯង ចាប់ផ្ដើមធ្វើទុក្ខកាន់តែខ្លាំងឡើងៗ ឪពុកម្ដាយគាត់ក៏បាននាំគាត់ទៅព្យាបាលនៅភ្នំពេញ។ បន្ទាប់ពីបានទទួលការព្យាបាលដោយឱសថ ពីពេទ្យនៅភ្នំពេញ ក៏ធូរស្បើយ ហើយប្រហែល១ឆ្នាំក្រោយមក ស្ថានភាពអ្នកជំងឺក៏ធ្វើទុក្ខឡើងវិញដូចដើម។ សាច់ញាតិក៏បាននាំអ្នកជំងឺទៅព្យាបាលនៅមន្ទីរពេទ្យខេត្ត បន្ទាប់មកទៅព្យាបាលនៅមន្ទីរពេទ្យឯភ្នំពេញ តែសភាពរបស់គាត់នៅតែមិនប្រសើរ។ ឪពុកម្តាយគាត់បាននាំទៅមើលគ្រូខ្មែរ និងព្រះសង្ឃ ក៏នៅតែមិនប្រសើរដដែល។ ដោយសារស្ថានភាពអ្នកជំងឺកាច និងអាចបង្កគ្រោះថ្នាក់ គ្រួសារសម្រេចចិត្តដាក់ច្រវ៉ាក់កូននៅក្រោមផ្ទះ ដើម្បីសុវត្ថិភាព។ បន្ទាប់ពីបានទទួលការព្យាបាលពីអង្គការធីភីអូកម្ពុជា បានប្រហែល៣ខែ ក្រុមគ្រួសារសង្កេតឃើញថា អ្នកជំងឺមានភាពល្អប្រសើរច្រើន អាចនិយាយយល់គ្នាបាន គេងលក់ល្អប្រសើរ។ អ្នកជំងឺបានស្នើសុំឪពុកម្ដាយដោះច្រវ៉ាក់គាត់ ព្រោះនៅពេលជាប់ច្រវ៉ាក់ គាត់មានអារម្មណ៍ថាពិបាក និងស្ត្រេស។ ដោយឪពុកម្ដាយបានសង្កេតឃើញថា កូនគាត់មានអាការល្អប្រសើរឡើងៗ បានឮកូននិយាយសូមឱ្យដោះច្រវ៉ាក់ចេញ គាត់រំភើបព្រោះឃើញកូនមានការយល់ដឹងបានច្រើន ក៏បានសម្រេចចិត្តតាមសំណូមពរកូន។ បន្ទាប់ពីដោះច្រវ៉ាក់អ្នកជំងឺមានអាការៈកាន់តែល្អប្រសើរឡើង គាត់អាចលេបថ្នាំដោយខ្លួនឯង ចេះរៀបចំខ្លួនឯងបាន និងជួយការងារឪពុកម្ដាយបានខ្លះៗ។ ញាតិមិត្តក្នុងភូមិពិតជាភ្ញាក់ផ្អើល ហើយសម្តែងក្តីត្រេកអរ ជាមួយអ្នកជំងឺ និងសាច់ញាតិ។ ម្តាយគាត់និយាយថា «ខ្ញុំអស់សង្ឃឹមយូរហើយ ខ្ញុំមិននឹកស្មានថា កូនខ្ញុំបានធូរស្បើយនោះទេ»។
I lose hope for recovery for long time, I never expect he could be better like this
Village authority approached TPO Cambodia for seeking help a person who has serious mental illness. He is 37 years, was locked up under a pillar of the house. He body covered by red blanket, his hair is very long. While TPO treatment team reached his house, accompanying by village authority, the patient unwelcomed us. He said that “Don’t come to interrupt me”, “I know your bad mind, go away from my house”. Even though his mother console him that this team come here to save you, not to harm you; but he was still stubborn and said that “I don’t need help from anyone”. The big toe has an ulcer. He was talkative and accused of making him harmful.
He started being sick when he was 25 years. He dropped out school at secondary school level. Then he went for an employment as an ironing laborer. He worked in this for several years, coworkers noticed that he has strange behavior, talkative, see something that others can’t see, talk alone, and aggressive. He can’t work anymore; his parents take him to see a doctor in Phnom Penh. He had received medical treatment and got better for a year, he relapsed. His parents took him to see psychiatrists at provincial level near their residence, but he did not improve. His parents then sent him to see a doctor in Phnom Penh, but his condition was not better. His parents were feeling hopeless and took him to see some traditional healers including monks, but he was not better. His family decided to chain him for safety because his behavior was aggressive and violent. After receiving medical treatment from TPO Cambodia for 3 months, his family noticed that he was better and was able to communicate. He was better from signs and symptoms and the patient requested his parent to free him because he felt stressful while being locked up like this.
His parents noticed that their son was better, and they were very excited while hearing his request to unchain. His family decided to unchain him. The patient could manage his medications, take medicine regularly and have self-care as well as help with housework. His neighbors were very surprised by his recovery. His parents said that “I lose hope for recovery for long time, I never expect he could be better like this”.
